Admissions
As Cassiobury Infant and Nursery School is a Community School, the local authority, Hertfordshire County Council (HCC), is the admission authority and is responsible for setting the admission arrangements and allocating places in accordance with the published admission rules. Please contact HCC directly with any queries regarding admission arrangements. Details available on the Hertfordshire County Council website.
Children are currently admitted to the school at the beginning of the September term prior to their fifth birthday. Our standard admission number is 90 children. HCC allocates infant places using their admissions criteria.
If you require a Nursery place for your child, you will need to apply directly to the school.

Admission to Nursery and Tours
Admission to the Nursery class (40 places)
Parents/carers need to apply directly to the setting of their choice to secure a place for their child in a nursery setting. Children enter the Nursery class in the September after they turn 3 years old. Therefore, for September 2026 entry, children must have a date of birth between 1st September 2022 and 31st August 2023.
For 2026 – 27 we are able to offer 30 full time places (8.45am – 2.45pm with an option to pay and extend to 3.15pm) and 10 part-time places (8.45am – 11.45am). This is in line with statutory pupil to adult ratios for nursery children.

- 01/12/2025 at 10am – Applications open
- 27/02/2026 at 9am – Deadline for applications
- 16/03/2026 at 2pm – Offers sent out
- 23/03/2026 at 9am – Acceptance deadline
If you would like to be placed on our continued interest list for September 2026 start, please complete the following form: Continued Interest List 26/27. Please note that there will be no movement/offers made until after 23rd March. We will be in contact with you should we be able to offer you a place.
IN YEAR 2025-2026 (children must have a date of birth between 1st September 2021 and 31st August 2022) :
We are currently full however parents are able to register to be placed on our : Continued Interest List 25/26
If a space becomes available and you are offered a place at our nursery, this information will form part of your child’s record whilst he / she is at our school.
If you are not offered a place the information will be disposed of after three months unless you want your child to remain on our continued interest list.
* Please note: gaining a nursery place is not a guarantee of a main school place.
Admission to Reception and Tours
Our school is a community school and the admissions authority for our school is Hertfordshire County Council, which publishes its entry regulations every year. All admissions to Reception year need to go through Hertfordshire County Council. Visit Hertfordshire County Council for more information and application.
Your child’s date of birth needs to be between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022 for a Reception place starting in September 2026.

In Year Admissions
If you have moved, you can apply to change school during the school year. We call this an “In Year Admission”.
If your child is currently in Reception through to year 2 and you would like to apply for a place at our school, please contact Hertfordshire County Council admission team. You will need to make an In-Year Application via the HCC website: www.hertfordshire.gov.uk
