As Cassiobury Infant and Nursery School is a Community School, the local authority, Hertfordshire County Council (HCC), is the admission authority and is responsible for setting the admission arrangements and allocating places in accordance with the published admission rules. Children are currently admitted to the school at the beginning of the September term prior to their fifth birthday. Since 2010/11, our standard admission number is 90 children. HCC allocates infant places using their admissions criteria.
If you require a Nursery place for your child, you will need to apply directly to the school.

Admission to Nursery
Admission to the Nursery class (40 places)
Parents/carers need to apply directly to the setting of their choice to secure a place for their child in a nursery setting. Children enter the Nursey class in the September after they turn 3 years old. Therefore, for September 2021 entry, children must have a date of birth between 1 September 2017 and 31 August 2018.
If you are offered a place at our nursery this information will form part of your child’s record whilst he / she is at our school.
If you are not offered a place the information will be disposed of after three months unless you want your child to remain on our continued interest list.
For 2021 -22 we are able to offer 30 full time places (9.00am – 3.00pm) and 10 part-time places (9.00am – 12.00pm). This is in line with statutory pupil to adult ratios for nursery children.

Admission to Reception
Our school is a community school and the admissions authority for our school is Hertfordshire County Council, which publishes its entry regulations every year. All admissions to Reception year need to go through Hertfordshire County Council. Visit the Hertfordshire County Council website for more information and application.
Due to COVID 19, we are unable to offer any face-to-face parent tours of the school. In replacement we are running Virtual Tours of the school for parents of children that are due to start Reception in 2021.
If you wish to join any of the meetings please email the school office, stating your child’s name and date of birth, at the address below and they will send you a link to the meeting.

If you have moved, you can apply to change school during the school year. We call this an “in year admission”.
